A VR CHRISTMAS AT MICROSOFT REACTOR VRLO
VRLO - VR HO HO CHRISTMAS - 5 December
Attended the VR Christmas Industry event, in association with REWIND for an evening of networking with the movers and shakers of the immersive tech sector.
Taking place at the Microsoft Reactor, London, I experiences new exciting immersive experiences and hardware in an evening of incredible demos.
It was fantastic to finally be able to network with key individuals in the immersive industry and inform them of my project, the first British Virtual Reality film, The London Detective.
I personally connected with HTC Vive, the creators of my most beloved headset and proud distributors of the first Virtual Reality feature film, 7 Miracles, which was also on showcase at the event with the brand new wireless HTC Vive Headset. Furthermore, we all spoke on twitter after the event and connected further in regards to projects.
In closing, it was incredible to attend the event with the course tutors as well as mentors from Inition whom I had met at the Virtual Reality Diversity Initiative as well as a few of the VRDI’s event attendees. It truly showed that a community is developing in the UK of the immersive industry’s best and most active creatives and it was fantastic to be among them on the final day of the first term of the course.
I would recommend attending industry events relating to VR industries for anyone wanting to learn more about and connect with others regarding Virtual Reality. These events provide access to incredible technology launches and more importantly such a diverse, eclectic and talented range of people in the industry.
All in all, it was an awesome VR Christmas event of networking wrapped up with festive fun and free drinks, but most importantly so many of the VR industry who came together to celebrate what had been another amazing year for the entire immersive industry. Long live VR!
